 <note>This research is motivated by the phenomenon of high yet stagnant&#13;
employee retention within the Ragunan Wildlife Park Management&#13;
Unit, indicating an imbalance between long-term loyalty and the&#13;
dynamics of employee career development. Of the 125 employees,&#13;
72% have worked for more than 20 years, while only 4% have a tenure&#13;
of less than 10 years, reflecting a weak human resource regeneration&#13;
system. This disparity potentially reduces the organization’s long-&#13;
term effectiveness, particularly in the context of conservation work&#13;
that requires technical specialization and service continuity. This&#13;
research employs a quantitative approach, with data collected&#13;
through questionnaires that have been tested for validity and&#13;
reliability. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling from a&#13;
population of 125 employees, yielding 95 respondents based on the&#13;
Slovin formula. The analytical technique used is multiple linear&#13;
regression analysis through SPSS for Windows version 29. The results&#13;
reveal that: (1) organizational commitment has a positive and&#13;
significant effect on employee retention, with a significance value of&#13;
0.001 and a contribution of 75.3% to the retention variable; (2)&#13;
career development also has a positive and significant effect on&#13;
employee retention, with a significance value of 0.001 and a&#13;
contribution of 75.4%; and (3) organizational commitment and&#13;
career development simultaneously exert a positive and significant&#13;
influence on employee retention, with a significance value of 0.000&#13;
and an R² value of 78.1%, while the remaining 21.9% is influenced by&#13;
factors outside this research. These findings underscore that&#13;
enhancing the quality of organizational commitment, alongside&#13;
developing an adaptive and sustainable career development system,&#13;
is essential to creating employee retention that is not only numerically&#13;
high but also strategically valuable for the sustainability of public&#13;
conservation management.</note>
